The Quest to Find my Mantra

So as I was on iTunes a couple days ago, I happened to find Christina Perri's brand new album, "lovestrong." The songs are great - not to go all commercial on you, but each track is really a work of art. Anyways, as I saw on the cover of her new single "Arms", I noticed one of the many lavish tattoos on her arms. It says "Too thine own self be true." See for yourself:

It struck a curiousity in me, and I researched. In an interview, Christina claimed that that is her personal mantra - it's like a saying the she lives her life by. To others, it's just another Shakespearean quote. To her, it is important enough to get inked onto her limb. This got me thinking - I should have one, too! I looked up some quotes by people that really inspire me, and thought I'd share my top favorites considering each one made me smile, if even a little bit. Here we go, y'all:

"Time you enjoy wasting, was not wasted."
-John Lennon

"Count your age by friends, not years. Count your life by smiles, not tears."
-John Lennon

"There's nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be..."
-John Lennon

"None but ourselves can free our minds."
-Bob Marley

"Don't gain the world and lose your soul, wisdom is better than silver or gold."
-Bob Marley

"They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself."
-Andy Warhol

"It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop."
-Andy Warhol

"They can't scare me, if I scare them first."
-Lady GaGa

"In the end, it's not going to matter how many breaths you
took, but how many moments took your breath away"
-Shing Xiong

Sitting here, reading all of these quotes, I wonder if you're thinking the same thing I am - these quotes are cute and all, but why am I wasting time reading these when I should be going out and living life now? I mean, right now, where ever the hell you are - in a chair, on a bed, on the floor, on an iPhone...you're living life. All the blokes who made those quotes are long gone, but they each lived extravagant lives; that's how they came up with all those clever little lines. So, to all of you readers (just kidding...who the hell reads this blog anyways?) out there, I have one mantra for you: LIVE YOUR F***ING LIFE. JUST LIVE IT AND LOVE IT.

And I'll work on making my nothing into something (;
